Gujarat: 40,000 students registered for 30,000 seats in paramedical courses. Ahmedabad News – Times of India

AHMEDABAD: Registration for the first round of admission to undergraduate paramedical courses like Nursing, Physiotherapy, Optometry, Naturopathy and Audiology has ended and 40,878 students have registered for the 30,000-odd seats available in the state.
Sources said 39,248 of the registered people have also completed their document verification. Sources said that there are many students who are trying to get into undergraduate medical and dental courses, but with admissions not starting for them, they registered for paramedical courses as an option. Undergraduate medical and dental admissions will begin after the results of the Undergraduate National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) are declared on Wednesday, sources said. National Testing Agency ,NTA) had conducted the NEET-UG on 17th July Gujarat 18 lakh examinees appeared at the national level including 10,900 from Ahmedabad.
Sources said that the students have been waiting for the medical admissions to start ever since the GSHSEB declared the class 12 results in May.
Sources said, the number of seats for nursing and physiotherapy courses is likely to increase as the government is yet to complete the process of approving new nursing colleges in the state.
