Gujarat Assembly Elections: Campaigning for the first phase ends today

Ahmedabad: Today is the last day of campaigning for the first phase of elections for 89 out of 182 seats in Gujarat. The first phase of elections will be held on December 1.

Notable Candidates of Gujarat Election Phase 1

Notable candidates in the first phase include Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief ministerial candidate Isudan Gadhvi, who is contesting from Khambhalia seat in Devbhoomi Dwarka district.

the former Gujarat Minister Parshottam Solanki, six-time MLA Kunvarji Bavaliya, Morbi ‘Nayak’ Kantilal Amritiya, Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja’s wife Rivaba and Gujarat AAP president Gopal Italia are also among the prominent candidates in the first phase of the state assembly polls.

Bharatiya Janata Party President JP Nadda and Union Minister Smriti Irani will campaign in Bhavnagar and Gandhidham (Kutch district) respectively for BJP candidates contesting in the first phase on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Nadda and other BJP leaders have already held rallies to support their party candidates contesting in the first phase. AAP’s national convenor and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has also campaigned extensively for his party’s candidates and from the Congress, its president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot have been key campaigners for their party’s candidates.

Voting on the remaining 93 seats will be held on December 5.
