New Delhi:
More than 130 people were killed on Sunday when a footbridge packed with tourists collapsed in Gujarat’s Morbi town. Sources in India’s top forensic laboratory said the cable bridge collapsed due to a huge crowd of people.
Nine people have been arrested a day after the accident. These include the manager of the bridge repair company Oreva, ticket collectors, the contractor who repaired the bridge and three security guards whose job was to control the crowd.

Rescue operations resumed at Morbi incident site, Indian Navy and NDRF teams have been deployed.
PM Modi chaired a high level meeting to review the situation in Morbi at Raj Bhavan, Gandhinagar yesterday.
They were briefed about the ongoing rescue operations at the spot. The PM once again emphasized on ensuring that the affected people get all possible help.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi present in Gujarat will visit Morbi city today. Yesterday, he had said that the Center is providing all possible help to the state.
