Addressing a rally here, PM Modi urged people to ensure BJP’s victory and said, “I am here with you not as Prime Minister Modi but as your brother Modi. I have come here to meet you.”

He also spoke about the steps taken to boost ‘Ease of Living’, improve the water situation in Saurashtra, efforts for MSMEs and other development works, reports ANI.

The Prime Minister hit out at the country’s oldest party, saying the Congress never trusted the people during its rule in the state and the legacy of the British came to it, while the BJP trusted the people, so people trusted the BJP .

This time, the saffron party under the leadership of PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and state BJP chief CR Patil is aiming to get its highest number of seats, more than 140. In the 2017 Gujarat Assembly elections, the BJP secured 99 seats. Out of total 182 seats.

Gujarat has long been a BJP bastion as the party has been ruling the state for 27 years. It has set its sights on returning to power for a seventh term. During this long tenure PM Modi has been Modi Longest serving Chief Minister of Gujarat From 2001 to 2014.

On the other hand, the Congress and the new Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are also hoping to put their best electoral foot forward to defeat the BJP.

Assembly elections in Gujarat are to be held in two phases on December 1 and December 5, the results of which will be declared on December 8.
