Gujarat: Man sets wife, eight-month-old son on fire in Jamnagar. Rajkot News – Times of India

Rajkot: A 32-year-old man was arrested for allegedly setting his wife and eight-month-old son on fire following a domestic dispute at Methan village in Jamjodhpur taluka of Jamnagar on Sunday evening.
Police arrested Naresh Marwadi on the basis of a complaint by his wife Bhawna Marwadi (30), who is undergoing treatment for severe burns at the Jamnagar Civil Hospital and his son Ranjit also suffered minor burns.
According to the complaint lodged by Bhavna, this was her second marriage. She and Naresh tied the knot four years ago and have an eight-month-old son.
On Sunday, Naresh accused Bhavna of not taking proper care of his child and said that he doesn’t like her anymore. There was a heated argument between them for a few minutes on this issue and then Bhavna went to the kitchen with the child and started cooking on the stove.
Police said that while Bhavna was cooking food with the girl in her lap, the angry Naresh poured kerosene on her and set her on fire.
When she and her son came under fire, Bhavna cried. One of the neighbors, Ramesh Marwari, came to her rescue. Ramesh also got burnt while trying to douse the fire. Meanwhile, Naresh managed to save his son from Bhavna’s arms. Bhavna, her son and Ramesh were taken to a hospital in Jamnagar.
In her statement to the police at the hospital, Bhavna accused Naresh of trying to kill her and her son. Police said that both Bhavna and her son are stable and out of danger.
