Gujarat Titans (GT) team director Vikram Solanki praised skipper Hardik Pandya for handling the leadership responsibility like a champ. Ahead of the mega auction, Titans picked Pandya and appointed him as the captain for the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Under Hardik’s leadership, GT won 10 of their 14 matches in the league stage and topped the points table. They also became the first team to qualify for the IPL 2022 playoffs. Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Qualifier 1 and will take on the same opponents in the final in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Former England cricketer Solanki mentioned that Hardik has used his experiences skillfully in his personal and professional life. Also, he praised Pandya for being a decent human being.

“To me, he has a balance that is typical of winners. He is someone who has clearly gone through a lot in his life as a cricketer and a person. And he uses those experiences to make that happen.” He does it the way he does it,” Solanki was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.

“I am very happy because he was so adamant that he wanted to do a really good job. He is absolutely a good person. And it has put him in a good position too,” he said.

Pandya has scored 453 runs in 14 matches for Titans this season at an average of 45.30 and strike rate of 132.84 with four half-centuries.
