Gurugram police have registered a case on the complaint of a 22-year-old woman that a man tried to rape her and threatened to kill her if she resisted, police said on Tuesday.
According to the victim, the accused Khushwant, who was an acquaintance of the woman, called her to the Housing Board Colony in Sector 33 and tried to rape her.
When the woman opposed this, the accused abused and assaulted her. Police said he also threatened to kill her.
The woman somehow reached home and narrated the ordeal to her parents. He lodged a complaint with the police on Monday.
He told that based on the complaint of the woman, an FIR has been registered against Khushwant.
Investigating officer Assistant Sub-Inspector Vijeta said, “We are verifying the facts and action will be taken as per law.”
