The COVID-19 pandemic is, in the truest sense, Pandora’s box, with novel forms surfacing now and then, multiple waves coming unnoticed, and an enormous amount of misinformation on social media. While the virus, as an organism, as a phenomenon, suffocates the lungs, it leads to a choked mind that cannot understand fact from fiction.
An ophthalmologist known as Dr. Glaucomflecken is also a sketch comedian who often shares short sketches based on the life of a medical student. The latest sketch shared by this hilarious netizen is based on a conspiracy by anti-vaxxers to spread misinformation. The sketch is set in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and shows the scenario after the fifth wave of the coronavirus pandemic hits the unvaccinated.
Originally shared on TikTok, the video features everything from crying doctors to staff shortages, from unvaccinated patients in critical care units to hospital-served Resilience Pizza.
Have a look:
Netizens couldn’t help but appreciate the intense yet hilarious plot of the sketch.
The doctors concerned in the video shared and appreciated the accuracy of the sketch. Rita Pechulis, a critical care physician, said, “Oh my god. It’s like you’re in my ICU.”
Another physician, Dr. Tyson Bell wrote, “Spot on.”
“How close to home it is painful,” wrote Emily Levy, a pediatrician and physician.

Several users put their awkward bones aside and raised an issue which is also the intent of the video.
To all you HCWs, I have no idea how you do it, and I am incredibly grateful for everything you do. I wish I could make things better. All I can think of is encourage people to wax, and ask others to do the same. So I’ll do that. – Sue McInnis (@sloozy66) September 22, 2021
Excuse me for saying this, but what is being done to you (HCW) is absolutely rubbish. As a society, we cannot all adequately apologize to HCW for the horrors you are forced to witness.— Just Some Dad ️🌈 (@logical_one57) September 22, 2021
Dr. Glaucomflecken’s Twitter handle is full of such relatable, genuine and rib-tickling content.
Here’s one with the pharmacist, where the doctor-cum-comedian has shed light on the issue of misinformation about drugs. The video also mentions a time when people started hoarding bleach, following one of the most bizarre pieces of medical advice about COVID-19.
