Hansal Mehta’s ‘Faraj’ to hit the theaters on February 3

Produced by Anubhav Sinha and T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar, the film marks the debut of Zahaan Kapoor, grandson of cinema legend Shashi Kapoor, and also stars Aditya Rawal, son of actors Paresh Rawal and Swaroop Rawal.

Faraj had its world premiere at the 2022 edition of the BFI London Film Festival. Describing the film as “a story of our polarized times”, Mehta said through the attack on the Holy Artisan Cafe in Dhaka, he has tried to explore the wider theme of violence and what is really happening to young, vulnerable minds. motivates towards it.

“Designed as a suspenseful thriller that plays out over a tense night, my endeavor with ‘Faaraz’ has also been to shine a light on the immense courage and humanity that is required to stand up to violence. Sinha praised Hansal for doing justice to the story of the devastating incident that shook the world. The producer said, “It is the story of a hero who made a brave choice and celebrates the spirit of a young boy who stood up for his loved ones.”

Kumar revealed that the film had received an overwhelmingly positive response at its world premiere at the London Film Festival. “We are excited to finally bring this untold story of a young boy to the world. ‘Faaraz’ will surely strike a chord in your heart as it celebrates bravery, friendship and humanity. I am honored to be associated with such a Glad to have an important film,” he said.

Juhi Babbar, Aamir Ali, Sachin Lalwani, Palak Lalwani and Resham Sahani also rounded out the cast of the film.
