Hanuman Chalisa controversy: Rana to visit Delhi today, inform Home Ministry about ‘custodial abuse’; BMC will search his house

Hanuman Chalisa Line: Independent MLA Navneet Rana and her husband Ravi Rana will visit Delhi today and inform the Home Ministry officials about the sedition charges against them, ‘vendetta politics’ through BMC action and misbehavior with them in custody. And back home, civic body officials are likely to visit Rana’s residence for a search.

Navneet Rana, who was discharged from Lilavati Hospital after being released on bail yesterday, spoke extensively to the media, challenging Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to contest against him. She also said, “If reciting the Hanuman Chalisa was a crime, she would do it again and again”, calling it “the religious fight she would continue”. This seemed to be in violation of his bail order, which had directed him not to speak to the media about the matter. Special PP Pradeep Gharat Rana will seek cancellation of bail of the couple for violating the bail conditions.
