Happy Birthday Elon Musk: SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is arguably the most popular tech billionaire ever. This is because he is not only a leading business tycoon but also a recurring face in pop culture. best part? Musk never shied away from sharing his opinion on memes, an important part of today’s pop culture.

Overseeing a vast empire, one is forced to wonder how he finds time for his other shenanigans, but Musk, without fail, surprises us all. He has been a part of many popular shows and movies and has contributed to them with his cameos. As Musk turns 51, let’s take a look back at his pop culture appearances and acting cameos.

  1. iron man 2
    Musk is a real-life Iron Man and rightly so, made a cameo in the second installment in the Iron Man franchise. Actually, Tony Stark’s character was inspired by Musk. He reportedly facilitated SpaceX to shoot several scenes for the film.
  2. simpson
    After adding to an impressive guest list on the highly popular show, Musk appeared on the 26th season of The Simpsons. In the episode titled Musk Who Fell to Earth, Musk launches his Dragon 2 spacecraft into the Simpsons’ backyard.
  3. big bang theory
    Musk’s brief cameo was also part of the show that offered a unique combination of science and humor. Musk shared the screen with one of the characters on the show Big Bang Theory named Howard Wolowitz.
  4. South Park
    Musk appeared in this hilarious animated show several times in seasons 18 and 20. The show features four, very real, kids Stan, Kyle, Eric, and Kenny. In the episode titled Handycar, Musk participates in a wakey race and drives his Tesla D.
  5. young sheldon
    A spin-off of the sitcom The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon traces the life of Sheldon Cooper, when he was an unusual but gifted child. Musk appeared in an episode called A Patch, A Modem, and Zantac, where it shows how Musk got the idea for a reusable, landing rocket out of young Sheldon’s notebook.

    Musk also had a cameo in a mind-boggling production by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, Rick and Morty. In Season 4, he starred as Musk from an alternate universe. He appeared on the show as “Elon Tusk” and featured a pair of tusks justifying the name.

    The 2016 film starred Bryan Cranston, James Franco and Jonah Hill. Musk meets Brian’s character, Ned Fleming, at a bar as a boy in the film. He is introduced in the film as “Tesla’s Elon Musk”.
