Industrialist Harsh Goenka took to Twitter to share a list of top 5 dishes ordered by Indians in 2021. Along with this, he shared the most favorite foods as well as the fruits and vegetables that were most popular in Indian households in 2021.

As the world grapples with rising Covid-19 virus cases and pressure to stay indoors, the top 5 favorite dishes ordered in Indian homes included Indian, Pan-Asian, Chinese, Mexican and Korean. Whereas the most popular food item was classic biryani and then samosa, pav bhaji, gulab jamun, rasmalai. Among fruits a vegetable, tomato seems to be the most preferred, then banana, garlic, potato and chilli.

Sharing the list, Harsh Goenka said, “There is no real surprise anywhere other than the popularity of Korean cuisine.”

Meanwhile, it was reported last week that the COVID-19 pandemic has taken its toll on entrepreneurial activities in the country, with the total early stage entrepreneurial activity declining to 5.34% in 2020-21, as against 15% in the previous year. Was. ,

According to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) India survey conducted by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), there has been a decline in entrepreneurial intent among individuals due to the shock of the pandemic.

The survey was conducted for entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial perceptions in more than 45 countries of the world. EDII, Gandhinagar conducted this GeM India survey with a sample size of 3,317 adults and national level experts.

“The survey finds that the key indicator of entrepreneurial activity – TEA – has declined significantly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Out of the total population in the working age group in 2019-20, TEA was 15 per cent which declined Sunil Shukla, director general of EDII and team leader of Gem India, told PTI.

The survey further states that the decline in TEA is more severe in case of female youth. Female entrepreneurial activities declined by 79 percent, while male entrepreneurial activities declined by 53 percent.

The survey said that publicly entrepreneurship intentions were 33.3 per cent in 2019-20, which fell to 20.31 per cent in 2020-21.

Shukla said that in the Indian context and considering its size and scope along with its socio-economic challenges, entrepreneurship development can bring about a transformative change in the socio-economic scenario of the country.

“In this difficult time, those who have gone online have survived and flourished. Indian unicorns like Paytm, Byju’s, Swiggy and Zomato have flourished because they were using online,” he said.
