Harsh Goenka’s “IPL menu” gives a bizarre shout-out to CSK’s win

This is the “whistle podu” on social media platforms after Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings won the Indian Premier League trophy for the fourth time. The yellow blood of the Dubai International Stadium was bleeding. The fans could not keep calm after the last ball was bowled. At one time, CSK dominated the top 10 trends on Twitter. The hashtags “CSK Forever” and “Mahi” are still trending on the microblogging platform. In such a situation, industrialist Harsh Goenka also joined the fun and gave a strange slogan to the winning team. There is a turning point. Tweeting has everything to do with food.

Harsh Goenka prepared the IPL menu. Interesting, isn’t it? The opening line was as follows: “Idli wins decisively against Rasgulla in the final.” We can’t remember the metaphors he was using. While Idli represents Chennai, Rasgulla certainly epitomizes the taste of Kolkata.

He further added, “Tandoori naan tried a lot… Bisi bele bhaat looked delicious but… 5 time champion Vadapav was out. Lassi also couldn’t make it to the last 4. Dal Bati was dropped . Biryani remained at the bottom of the menu card.”

It is interesting how Harsh Goenka used recipes to represent teams in the IPL. Vada Pav means Mumbai Indians, the five-time champion failed to prove her mettle this season. Dal Bati is a part of Rajasthani cuisine, hence it represents the Rajasthan Royals. Similarly, Bisi Bele Bhaat, a dish from Karnataka refers to the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Biryani, undoubtedly, represented Sunrisers Hyderabad. Harsh Goenka chose Tandoori Naan and Lassi for Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings. Can we give him 10/10 for creativity?

Here’s the tweet:

Twitter users reacted in a strange way to Harsh Goenka’s comment. One user wrote, “Sir what’s on your thali? Rasgulla being half Bengali or just settled in mumbai vada pav? Or dal baati for your native roots? Please confirm.”

Another described the variety in terms of idli. He wrote, “This idli Matunga is like a popular restaurant in Mumbai, created by a chef from Jharkhand. But the taste is as authentic as it is in Tamil Nadu.”

Some cited the IPL’s decision to add two new teams to the league in 2022.

One user wrote, ‘After the success of this restaurant IPL, two more delicious things are going to be added to this IPL final menu card by next year.

“Biryani is part of the main course, it is enjoying its middle-order status,” wrote this person.
