Members of the Shivamogga district unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and other Hindutva organizations protested in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Shivamogga on March 7 and demanded stringent punishment for those involved in the murder of its activist Harsha. The protesters alleged that Popular Front of India (PFI) and Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) were behind Harsh’s murder. The protesters were led by VHP District President JR Vasudev, Secretary Narayan G. Warshekar and Rajesh Gowda of Bajrang Dal who submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner.
