Police head constable S Thangavelu, 59, was killed in a road accident on Friday on the Thuraiyur-Namakkal road in Sakkampatti village. He was attached to Jambunathapuram police station.
Police sources said Thangavelu was riding a two-wheeler when the vehicle coming in the opposite direction and a maxi cab collided. The head constable died on the spot. The body has been sent to Thuraiyur Government Hospital for postmortem. Thathingarpet police have registered a case.
