Healthy and Delicious Chole Tikki Burger Recipe, shared by Sanjeev Kapoor

On the other hand, fried tikkis stuffed inside burger buns can give your taste buds a respite from the tasteless food. Tikki Burgers are becoming one of the most loved comfort food items in India. So let’s give it a healthy twist with vegetables, chickpeas and lots of Indian spices. Celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor has shared the recipe of Chole Tikki Burger on his Instagram handle.

Ingredients required for Chole Tikki:

Chickpeas, 1.5 cups, steamed

Potatoes, 2 pieces, boiled

Cheese, 1/4 cup

Pomegranate Seed Powder, 2 tsp

Onion, 1 piece, finely chopped

Green chili, 1-2 pieces, chopped

Ginger paste, 1 tsp

Garlic paste, 1 tsp

Red chili powder, 2 tsp

Coriander Powder, 1 tsp

salt to taste

Garam Masala Powder, 1 tsp

Cumin Powder, 1/2 tsp

Chaat masala

Coriander leaves, 2 tbsp, finely chopped

Mint leaves, 2 tbsp, finely chopped

lemon, 1/2 piece

Bread Crumbs, 1/2 cup

hot coal pieces

Oil, 1/2 tsp

Ingredients for Yogurt Chutney:

Thick Yogurt, 1/4 cup, chilled

Roasted Cumin Powder, 1 pinch

Green Chutney, 1 tbsp

Ingredients for Burger Dressing:

Green capsicum, 1 piece, thinly sliced

Tomatoes, 1 slice, thinly sliced

Carrots, 1 piece, thinly sliced

Onion, 1 piece, thinly sliced

Red chili powder, 1/4 tsp

lemon, 1/2 piece

Process:

  1. Make a coarse paste by grinding the boiled gram.

  2. Add boiled potatoes and other tikki ingredients. Mash them together.

  3. Add bread crumbs to the dough of this tikki.

  4. Place a bowl of hot coal pieces in the center of the dough and pour oil in it and let it smoke.

  5. Cover the plate and keep it for 4-5 minutes so that the smoke of coal comes out in the dough.

  6. Prepare curd chutney with chilled curd, cumin powder and green chutney.

  7. Open the tikki dough. Roll the dough into tikki shaped flat balls.

  8. Deep fry the tikkis.

  9. Toast the burger buns in butter.

  10. Spread the yogurt sauce on the burger slices.

  11. Then keep the tikkis.

  12. Place a piece of paneer on top of the tikki.

  13. Pour vegetable mix over it.

  14. Spread the yogurt sauce on the other burger slices and pour over.
