Heat wave likely to end in Delhi, North-West from tomorrow: Met Office

The national capital experienced three prolonged heatwaves this month

Delhi:

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said today that heat wave conditions are likely to subside from tomorrow over Delhi, North-West and adjoining parts of central India.

The weather agency has predicted partly cloudy sky with the possibility of thunderstorms at isolated places, which is likely to bring some respite to the residents from the scorching heat.

The national capital experienced three protracted summers this month, with intermittent light rain and no thunderstorms this time of year due to the lack of an active Western Disturbance.

Delhi recorded its second warmest April in 72 years, with a monthly average maximum temperature of 40.2 degrees Celsius. The city’s normal monthly mean temperature in April is 36.30 °C.

It recorded a monthly average maximum temperature of 37.30 °C in April last year, 35.30 °C in 2020 and 37.30 °C in 2019.
