Cyclonic circulation over northern interior TN cited as reason
Collector Purva Garg said on Saturday that the IMD has predicted heavy rains at isolated places in Puducherry for the next five days.
Ms Garg said in a release that the IMD has issued a warning on a cyclonic circulation over North Interior Tamil Nadu and said that heavy rainfall has been predicted for Puducherry in the coming five days.

The district administration was still in the process of extracting water from Shankardas Nagar, which was inundated during the recent rains. The drains are being cleaned at Thengaitittu and Velrampet. He said that the work of desilting the drains on Mahatma Gandhi Marg is still going on. So far 82,083 food packets have been distributed, the release said.
