The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rain in the next five days in many parts of the country. Meanwhile, isolated hailstorms are likely over other areas in the next 24 hours, the latest forecast from the Meteorological Department showed on Sunday.
The weatherman predicts that light to moderate, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rain, thundershowers may occur KeralaTamil Nadu and South Interior Karnataka during the next 5 days. Similar weather conditions will prevail over Coastal Karnataka during next 3-4 days and over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during next 24 hours.

IMD has predicted that very heavy falls are very likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during October 25-26 and over Kerala and Mahe on October 26, 2021.
Isolated hailstorm is also likely over Himachal Pradesh and North Haryana during the next 24 hours. While the eastern parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh are likely to receive heavy rain and snowfall at isolated places during the day. The weather conditions will ease after 24 hours, an IMD statement read.
Earlier today, snowfall occurred in many parts of Lahaul and Spiti district, informed the IMD. The Manali-Leh highway has been closed for normal traffic following fresh snowfall at Baralacha Pass in the region.
According to the State Disaster Management Department, 80 people were trapped in Lahaul-Spiti district on Thursday due to bad weather.
Light to moderate, scattered to scattered rain, gusty winds – wind speed reaching 30 to 40 kmph – and lightning likely over Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh. Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan further said the IMD on Sunday.
