Heavy rain to be experienced in South Bengal in next 2 days. Kolkata News – Times of India

Kolkata : met The department warned on Monday that there is a possibility of heavy rain in the southern districts. West Bengal, including Kolkata, due to formation of a cyclonic circulation over northeast Bay of Bengal in the next two days.
The meteorologist said that the cyclonic circulation located off the coast of Myanmar is likely to move towards the West Bengal coast, causing rain at many places. South Bengal on Mondays and in most places on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Kolkata is one of the places where there is a possibility of heavy rain. Bypolls to Bhawanipur assembly seat in south Kolkata, where Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is contesting, are to be held on Thursday.
The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rain at one or two places in South 24 Parganas, Purba Medinipur and Paschim Medinipur districts on Tuesday.
There is a possibility of heavy rain in Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, Jhargram and North 24 Parganas districts on Tuesday.
There is a possibility of rain in all these districts except Bankura and Purulia on Wednesday.
The Meteorological Department has warned that the rain could cause water levels in rivers to rise, waterlogging in low-lying areas in cities and towns and damage to standing crops.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the deep sea till September 29 due to bad weather.
The state had received heavy rains early last week, causing water logging in and around Kolkata.
