Helmet rules: Be careful riding two wheelers! Your challan will be charged from this helmet

Helmet Rules 2022 in India: Wearing a helmet is most important while driving a two wheeler. This not only protects you but also avoids traffic challans on most occasions. It is generally seen that even a person wearing a helmet is rarely stopped by the traffic police. But just wearing a helmet is not enough. Some rules related to helmets also apply, failing which you can be fined. That is, how your helmet should look, how it should be, for this the government has set some rules. So this way your helmet will save you from challan.

Wear helmet like this:

1. As per the rules, the helmet should be made of such material and in such a way that it is capable of providing maximum protection against injury in the event of an accident.

2. The helmet must be worn properly over the driver’s head. It also has to be strapped. That is, just wearing a helmet on the head will not be enough.

According to the rules, this should be your helmet:

1. The helmet should weigh up to 1.2 kg.

2. High quality foam should be used in the helmet and should have a minimum thickness of 20-25 mm.

3. As per the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), it is mandatory for all helmets to have ISI mark. Wearing and selling a helmet without ISI mark is a legal offense.

4. A transparent eye cover should be used in the helmet.

5. It is also very important to have a BIS certificate for the helmet.

6. If you are caught using an illegal helmet and fail to follow any of the instructions, your helmet may be confiscated.
