‘Hero must ensure villain doesn’t die’: Director Venkat Prabhu on Custody’s plot

Custody is all set to hit the theaters on 12th May.

Venkat Prabhu said that the film has been made realistically and the commercial route has been avoided in its development.

With only seven days till Naga Chaitanya’s much-awaited bilingual film Custody to hit the theatres, the makers are in full swing with its promotions. The action thriller is directed by renowned director Venkat Prabhu, and recently, in an interview, the director was asked about the story of the film.

He revealed that Custody revolves around a hero who must ensure that the villain does not die. The objective of the hero is to stop the villain from dying. He also added that the entire story takes place in just 48 hours. He said Custody is an action film made realistically. The film avoided a commercial route, and instead a grounded approach was used to make the scenes look as authentic as possible.

Recently, the producer of the film Srinivasa Chitturi revealed that he wanted to collaborate with Venkat Prabhu for a long time. Venkat directed the Telugu version of Mankatha, called Gambler. He said that he tried to work with him, but now he got a chance to work with them. He further stated that the films made by Venkat had a universal appeal, and this was an important factor in why he wanted to work with him.

The film will release on May 12 and will feature Naga Chaitanya as a cop. It is also the actor’s debut film in the Tamil film industry. The film also stars Kriti Shetty as the main villain and talented actor Arvind Swamy. Vennela Kishore, Sarathkumar, Premgi Amren, Sampath Raj and Priyamani will be seen playing lead roles in the film. The film is produced under the banner of Srinivasa Silver Screen, and the music is given by maestro Ilaiyaraaja and Yuvan Shankar Raja.

The makers of Custody firmly believe that the film will be different from Naga Chaitanya’s previous work and will appeal to all sections of the audience. The first look posters of the film have also received positive response from the audience.
