High Court grants bail to 3 accused in Telangana MLA poaching case

The Telangana High Court on Thursday granted bail on certain conditions to three accused in the alleged horse-trading of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLAs.

The bail has been granted on the condition of a surety of Rs three lakh and two sureties. The accused will have to appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) every Monday.

Last month on November 24, the Supreme Court set aside the Telangana High Court order which had issued various directions to the SIT to proceed with the investigation into the alleged horse-trading of TRS MLAs and not report them to any authority were made, whether political or executive.

The Telangana High Court issued various directions on November 15, wherein the SIT would submit its first report in a sealed cover before a single judge of the High Court regarding the progress of the investigation.

Earlier on October 29, the Telangana High Court had ordered the three accused in the MLA poaching case to surrender before the police for further investigation.

The high court’s order came after the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court dismissed the remand pleas of the three accused in the case. The Cyberabad police had moved the HC challenging the ACB court order.

Cyberabad police arrested three persons, Ramchandra Bharathi alias Satish Sharma, Nand Kumar and Singhayaji Swamyat, from a farmhouse in Ranga Reddy district on Wednesday evening after TRS MLAs were informed about poaching, which the leaders was accused. B J P.

Significantly, the TRS had alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was trying to poach MLAs by luring them with money and contracts.

Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 120-B, 171-B r/w 171-E 506 r/w 34 and Section 8 of the Prevention of Corruption Act-1988 at Moinabad Police Station following a complaint by TRS MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy on Wednesday .

In the FIR, Pilot Reddy alleged that Ramachandra Bharti, who had come to Hyderabad from Delhi, and Nand Kumar of Hyderabad, both belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party, had met him and offered him Rs 100 crore to join the BJP.

According to the FIR, MLA Rohit Reddy also alleged that he was threatened that criminal cases would be filed against him and raids would be conducted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) if he did not join the BJP.

Meanwhile, the BJP has moved the Telangana High Court, demanding a CBI probe into the allegations.

Furthermore, Union minister and BJP leader G. Kishan Reddy denied the allegations of poaching of TRS MLAs and said that it reflects the fear of TRS and demanded an inquiry by high court judges.
