HSRP The old vehicles will be affixed by the vehicle manufacturers through their authorized dealers only to control and check the substandard material, State Transport Authority (STA) said on Monday.
According to a release, the deadline for levying HSRP for vehicles with Odisha registration mark and registration number ending with 1 and 2 is August 31.

shall be imposed with a fine of Rs.5,000 or Rs.10,000 under motor vehicle act after the relevant time limit has expired.
The aluminum plates have the vehicle identification number laser encoded, which is easy to scan and difficult to tamper or replace as it comes with a non-removable snap-lock. The registration numbers will have a unified font and style to make them better understood.
The HSRP contains details such as the engine number and chassis number in a central database, which helps in identifying the stolen car, along with a 10-digit PIN or laser code.
Vehicle owners can book for HSRP and pay through online portals authorized by the manufacturers to maintain transparency and avoid additional charges from the vehicle owners.
Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) welcomed STA’s move “in building a robust online booking process for HSRP and colour-coded stickers”.
SIAM, the apex body of all major vehicle and vehicle engine makers, posted on Twitter, “The service will soon be available on our website for vehicle owners in these states.”
The STA said that HSRP has already been made mandatory for all new vehicles registered with effect from April 1, 2019.
