Actor and activist Chetan Kumar A, who was arrested for posting critical remarks about a Karnataka High Court judge on Twitter, moved the court for bail on February 23. He has been kept in Central Jail Parappana Agrahara.

The answer is only to intensify our struggle.”

Chetan was booked under sections 505(2) of the Indian Penal Code for ‘statement causing or promoting enmity, hatred or ill-will between class’ and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace). Both are non-bailable offenses and can carry up to three years in prison.
