Himachal Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Exam: CBI conducts searches at 50 places in 7 states in paper leak case

New Delhi: The CBI on Tuesday (January 31) carried out searches at 50 places in seven states as part of its probe into two cases related to the leak of constable recruitment exam papers in Himachal Pradesh. Officials gave this information.
The agency had registered two FIRs on November 30, 2022 on the request of the state government to take over the investigation of the cases probed by the state police.

The question papers of the written examination held on March 27, 2022, for the post of constables in Himachal Pradesh Police were leaked before the date, it has emerged, through several middlemen spread across states.

Middlemen from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana and Punjab were working in an organized manner to leak the question papers of the examination.

Officials said the papers were provided to the candidates in exchange for a huge amount.
