Pakistani actress Saba Qamar, who has been receiving overwhelmingly positive response for the recently launched show Mrs & Mr Shamim, is happy with the audience’s response to the show and her portrayal of the fearless and relentless Umaina. Saba made her Bollywood debut with the 2017 release ‘Hindi Medium’, where she shared the screen with the late Irrfan Khan. After working on this side of the border in ‘Hindi Medium’ and now in ‘Mrs and Mr Shamim’, Saba shares the names of some of the iconic directors of Bollywood with whom she looks forward to working with in the future.
The actress said, “Since ‘Hindi Medium’ and now ‘Mrs & Mr. Shamim’, I am receiving a lot of love from my fans and followers from India. It gives me immense pleasure to see that my work is appreciated. And I am given due credit.” She added, “‘Hindi Medium’ was a unique experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life. It changed and molded me in many ways.”
She added that she connects to the stories of some Bollywood directors who have a habit of telling stories that make a difference.
Listing her favorite directors of the present era of Hindi cinema, Saba said, “When I watch the evolving Bollywood industry, I feel the stories narrated by Mr. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Anurag Basu, Imtiaz Ali and others. Vishal Bhardwaj Resonated widely with me. These are my four favorite directors from the industry I look forward to working with in the future.”
