Police said the bus was going towards Rabupura while the car was going towards Bulandshahr When they collided on Jhajjar-Rabupara road near Mohammadpur Jadau village. Car driver Purushottam alias Dabboo Lal (27) and Rinku In this incident Singh (26), a resident of Bulandshahr and an employee of a private company were killed and his associate Mohit Kumar of Bulandshahr was also injured.
Vivek Kumar Srivastava, station in-charge (SHO) of Rabupura police station said that the incident happened around 5 pm, following which passersby approached the police. But when the police reached the spot, there was no passenger in the bus while the bus driver and helper had fled. Officials learned that other buses or cabs on board the bus had taken them to their destinations, leaving the injured car passengers on the road.
“We took him to a nearby hospital for medical attention, but the doctors declared Purushottam brought dead, while Rinku died during treatment. Both had suffered serious head injuries,” the SHO said.
“Purushottam was driving the car while Rinku was sitting next to him. There was a fascination behind him. Preliminary investigation revealed that both the vehicles were speeding and the drivers did not pay attention to the other vehicle, leading to a head-on collision.
The police have informed the family members of the deceased, who will soon reach the city to collect the dead body. The SHO said the families can tell the police more about the three. Police have sent both the bodies for post-mortem and are awaiting the report.
“Based on the complaint of the parents of the deceased, an FIR has been registered against an unidentified person under sections 304A (death by negligence) and 279 (rash driving) of the IPC. We are checking the CCTV footage from the block and adjoining areas. We will also contact the bus depot official to get the details of the bus driver,” the SHO said.
