Swami Vivekananda Jayanti: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday paid tribute to Swami Vivekananda on his 160th birth anniversary. Remembering the iconic spiritual personality, the Prime Minister said that his great ideals and thoughts will continue to guide the people of the country.
PM Modi wrote on Twitter, “His (Vivekananda’s) life, patriotism, spirituality and dedication will always inspire.” The Prime Minister has often cited Vivekananda as a major influence on him.
Later in the day, PM Modi will also inaugurate the ‘National Youth Festival’ in Karnataka to mark the day.
President Murmu also pays tribute
Meanwhile, President Draupadi Murmu also paid tribute to Vivekananda on his birth anniversary. The President tweeted, “My tributes to Swami Vivekananda on his birth anniversary! An iconic personality who combined spirituality and patriotism, he preached Indian values globally. His life and teachings inspired the youth to follow their dreams and aim big.” inspires you to achieve.”
About National Youth Day
National Youth Day is celebrated every year on 12 January in honor of the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. He is regarded as one of the greatest leaders of India and his ideology has inspired many. One of the greatest philosophers and spiritual leaders, Swami Vivekananda believed in the power of youth.
The 26th National Youth Festival will be held in Hubli-Dharwad, Karnataka from January 12 to 16, 2023 and is being organized by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in association with the Government of Karnataka. The theme of this year’s festival is ‘Developed Youth Prosperous India’.
