“His wallet not found. Still”: Larry, Kat at UK PM’s home, tickles Twitter

Larry the Cat was brought up 11 years ago at 10 Downing Street.

Since being brought to 10 Downing Street 11 years ago, Larry the Cat has gained a significant fanbase. The Chief Mauser of the Cabinet Office, who is known for making witty comments on current events in British politics on Twitter, has now answered some questions asked by his fans.

Now that Indian-origin Rishi Sunak has taken over as the new Prime Minister of the UK, Larry the Cat has clarified that he is not his cat. The Twitter handle of “Chief Mauser” at Downing Street Lecture captioned a picture of the cat, “No, I’m not “Sage Sunak’s cat”.

Larry the Cat, who has been a resident of the famous London house during several PM’s tenure, quipped, “I live here permanently, politicians are temporary residents”. “Some of them are very temporary”, he added.

Referring to Mr Sunak, Chief Mauser wrote, “I agree, he is not off to a great start”. Also, Larry the Cat addressed another question and said, “No, I haven’t found his wallet. Still”.

The responses to Larry the Cat received some amusing reactions from users on Twitter.

One user reminded Chief Mauser of Nova, the new dog brought in by Mr. Sunak as his pet.

Another said, “Dogs have masters; cats have staff.”

Some users had other questions. “But about the important political questions: Are you getting caviar and lobster on your meal? I don’t mind a recession and eating beans on toast, as long as I know public spending priorities are right… All the best to Larry! wrote one person.

One person asked, “Are you getting enough treatment? And if not, what’s your favorite treat and what address should people send the treat to?”

Larry the Cat’s questions seem never-ending.

“Keep trying, Larry. The wallet should be big enough,” read one comment.
