Holi 2023 will be celebrated on 8 March 2023 this year. India is a diverse land of cultures and traditions where festivals are celebrated with gusto across the country. Holi is also celebrated as ‘Vasant Utsav’ in different parts of India. The festival begins on the evening of Purnima (full moon day) in the month of Phalgun. In mythology, the festival is celebrated as ‘Holika Dahan’ or ‘Chhoti Holi’ on the first evening, followed by a grand celebration the next day. Holi rituals include lighting a bonfire the day before Holi as it symbolizes the victory of ‘good over evil’. People also consider it as ‘goodbye’ of winter days and welcome summer.
Celebrated as one of the most vibrant festivals in India, this day is worth spending with your friends and family. Earlier during Kovid, the festival was banned to prevent the virus from spreading, although since last year the festival has returned on track again.
