The J&K BJP chief said Home Minister Amit Shah has taken gravely the killing of two civilians outside an army camp in Rajouri and a high-level inquiry will be ordered to nab the culprits. Jammu and Kashmir BJP President Ravinder Raina said, “Home Minister Amit Shah has taken this incident with great gravity. I have spoken to Home Minister Amit Shah and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. A high-level inquiry into this incident is very important.” “. Two civilians, Surinder Kumar and Kamal Kishore, were killed and another person injured in a shooting outside an army camp on Friday morning.

The killings were followed by massive protests and the daughters blamed the military for the killings. The army, on its part, has said that both the civilians, who were working as laborers for the army for the last 15 years, were injured in the terrorist firing. On Friday the men were shot dead near the entrance to the army base. “Two persons have died in early morning firing incident by unidentified terrorists near Military Hospital in Rajouri. Officials of police, security forces and civil administration are under capture,” the army tweeted.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha termed the incident as unfortunate and announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the affected family. Sinha tweeted, “Rajouri incident is very unfortunate. Condolences to all. The identity of the lives cannot be determined, but still I announce an ex-gratia of Rs five lakh for each affected family.” Raina said that the lieutenant governor also spoke to the entire headdress and assured that justice would be served.

Rinder Rana said, “Our country works according to the law and no one is above the law. Whoever is involved should face the law.” The J&K Police said they have registered a case and investigation is underway, while the Army also denied cooperation in the investigation.
