When businesses no longer wish to make their shares available for trading, they can choose to go through this process. Delisting is removing listed shares of a company from a stock exchange where they are regularly traded. It prohibits trading of securities of a delisted company in the stock exchange. This can be done either voluntarily by the firm or forcibly by SEBI in response to any wrongdoing on the part of the company.
