How to Add a COVID-19 Vaccine Record to Apple Health, Wallet

The COVID-19 Vaccine Certificate is a verification that shows whether you have successfully completed the vaccination course or not. In light of the ongoing pandemic, the certificate serves as a ticket to access many essential services around the world, and we need to carry it everywhere. However, the easiest way to access the COVID-19 vaccine records is to save them on your smartphone. Apple, with the iOS 15.1 update, brings a new feature to allow iPhone users to store and access a digital copy of their COVID-19 vaccination and testing certificates in the Health app. This allows users to upload their vaccination status to the Health app and it will create a vaccination card in Apple Wallet.

COVID-19 Vaccination and test result records work similarly to paper documents with an official seal. Verifiable health records are indicated by a checkmark in the Health app iPhone To indicate that it hasn’t been changed since it was originally created.

How to Add Vaccination Card to Apple Wallet

If you have received a QR code from a healthcare provider, you can follow these steps to add the COVID-19 vaccination details in the Health app.

  1. Open the Camera app on your iPhone and scan the QR code.

  2. Once your iPhone recognizes the QR code, a Health app notification will be displayed on the screen.

  3. Tap on Health App Notifications.

  4. tap on Add to Wallet & Health To save COVID-19 vaccine details to Apple Health and Apple Wallet.

Some healthcare providers also provide downloadable files. In those cases, you can tap on the download link and select Add to Wallet & Health To attach data to Apple Wallet and Apple Health.

If you have already added your COVID-19 record to your apple health app, you can still add them to your Apple Wallet. For this,

  1. Open the Health app.
  2. Tap Summary in the bottom-left.
  3. under vaccination recordtap add to wallet,

If you don’t see the Add to Wallet option,

  1. Tap browse and enter vaccination.
  2. tap on vaccination record type,
  3. Select the verifiable vaccination record that has a checkmark and tap add to wallet,

It should be noted that before proceeding make sure that your iPhone is updated to iOS 15.1.1. Once connected, users can access their COVID-19 vaccine details at any time. But users need to verify their identity using Face ID, Touch ID or a passcode to see it in full. It will show your name, vaccine type, dose date, issuer and QR code. The data cannot be shared with other users.
