When a member joins and has an active EPF account, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) assigns him a universal 12-digit number known as UAN. The UAN number is provided by the EPFO ​​on the request of the employer, and in the event, it has not been provided yet, it can only be generated by a member using his/her Aadhaar number. Members who have UAN can download or print their passbook whenever they want, as well as download their UAN card, and they can verify all the member IDs linked to it. They can also file transfer claims online, log into their EPF accounts online, make withdrawals online, update their KYC details, transfer their EPF accounts or merge two EPF accounts. can. How to find UAN online?

According to the EPFO ​​website, a member can easily check his/her UAN by visiting the portal (epfindia.gov.in).

1. Go to (epfindia.gov.in) and go to the ‘Our Services’ section.

2. Click on ‘For Employees’ and under Services section, click on “Member UAN/Online Service (OCS/OTCP)”.

3. Now you will be redirected to the portal (unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in), and click on ‘Know Your UAN’ under ‘Important Links’ section.

4. Now enter your mobile number and required captcha code.

5. Click on ‘Request OTP’, and you will get a one-time password on the mobile number linked to your UAN.

6. Enter the OTP, and your UAN will be generated through SMS.

How to know UAN through SMS?

Members with active UAN can send an SMS to the number 7738299899 from their registered mobile number to know about their PF contribution and balance available in EPF account. The service is available in Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada and English (default language). To receive SMS messages in any supported language, the first three characters of the preferred language should be entered after the UAN. For example, enter the following text in SMS so that it is received in English: “EPFOHO UAN” to 7738299899.

After sending the SMS, EPFO ​​sends the member’s final PF contribution and balance details along with the KYC information available on the member’s registered mobile number. Members can check their UAN, most recent contribution and PF balance on SMS.
