How to make Kesar Gujiya? Pankaj Bhadoria shares easy recipe

Do you enjoy eating delicious Gujiyas on Holi? It is a traditional dessert that we look forward to during this time of the year. Almost every North Indian family prepares this crispy, golden brown dumpling to mark the festival of colours. We will be celebrating Holi in a few days and hence, it is time to prepare these sweets at home. He has shared a recipe of delicious Kesar Gujiya which can be made at home.

Component:

1) Flour – 2 cups

2) Ghee – 4 tbsp

3) Water – 1/4 cup

4) Khoya – 2 cups

5) Castor sugar 1/2 cup

6) Chironji – 2 tbsp

7) Raisins – 2 tbsp

8) Saffron – 1/4 tbsp

9) Oil for frying

This is how you can make Kesar Gujiya:

1) First of all take the mentioned quantity of flour and mix about 4 tablespoons of ghee in it. Rub it well until it becomes like bread crumbs. Now with the help of a little water, knead a hard and smooth dough.

2) Take a separate pan and put khoya in it. Cook the khoya on medium flame till it becomes light in color and dry.

3) It’s time to prepare the stuffing. For this take a plate and empty the cooked khoya in it. Add castor sugar, then chironji, raisins and finally saffron. Mix all these very well.

4) Here comes the last step, roll out the marble sized balls

1/4 cm thick puris. Place each one one by one in the gujiya mould. Apply the flour batter on the edges as shown in the video. Put 2 tbsp stuffing in each of them and press well. Fry the gujiyas in medium hot oil till light color. Your traditional Holi recipe is ready.
