Instead, you can now go for the Flipkart sell back program that allows users to get rid of used equipment and buy any product of their choice on Flipkart with earnings. A Flipkart press release states that according to IDC, there are around 125 million used smartphones in India, but only 20 million make it to the market.
About 85% of these used smartphones end up in landfills, contributing to the increasing amount of e-waste in the environment. Following the acquisition of Yantra, an electronics re-commerce portal, the Flipkart sell back program was set up. It is live on 1,700 pin codes in cities like Delhi, Kolkata and Patna.
So, if you have a used smartphone that you want to sell on Flipkart for another product, here is how you can use the Flipkart sell back program to do so.
To begin, launch the Flipkart app on your smartphone. Now, go to the menu bar and select Sell Back from the drop-down menu. You will be taken to the Sell Back Program page. To start the sales process, click the “Sell Now” tab.
You will have to answer questions like Brand Name, IMEI Number, etc. Provide your location and agree to the terms and conditions. The price of your smartphone will be revealed as soon as you confirm it. That is all. You have done Within 48 hours, a Flipkart representative will collect your smartphone. Buyers will receive the Flipkart electronic gift vouchers within a few hours of completion of the verification. The voucher can be used to buy anything on Flipkart.
