Yash-starrer KGF: Chapter 2 has become a massive blockbuster all over the world. The film earned a record Rs 1230 crore in 46 days since its release on April 14. Rocky Bhai played by Yash is now a fan favorite character. Fans are already speculating whether KGF 3 will happen while the picture is still effectively playing in theatres.
The creators teased the third installment in the scenes after the credits. Executive producer Karthik Gowda later confirmed that KGF 3 is indeed in the pipeline. Recently, rumors spread that Hrithik Roshan was approached for the third installment. However, the makers of KGF have finally shared an update about whether the casting of the film has started.
In a conversation with Asianet Newsable, Vijay Kiragandur, co-founder of KGF’s production house, Hombale Films, rubbished the rumors about Hrithik’s casting. He said that KGF: Chapter 3 will not happen this year. He said that he has some intentions, but Prashant is currently working on Saalar, and Yash will announce his next film soon.
He further added, “We need them to come together at the right time when they are free to start work on KGF 3. As of now, we do not have any definite date or time as to when the work on the third installment will start. “
Kiragandoor also said that once the dates are settled, they “will be in a better position to talk about the star cast.” Casting actors, on the other hand, “will be highly dependent on their availability at that time.”
“Everything depends on when the production of the sequel starts,” said the producer.
Meanwhile, Prashanth Neel directed KGF: Chapter 2 and managed to live up to the expectations set by Chapter 1. Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon and Srinidhi were part of the film’s ensemble cast.
