Huge crowd at Open House in East Godavari

Crores of students and public representatives attended the two-day arms exhibition ‘Open House’ organized by the Police Department for the public in Rajamahendravaram and Kakinada city of East Godavari district. The exhibition ended on Wednesday.

Rajamahendravaram Urban Superintendent of Police Aishwarya Rastogi and East Godavari District SP M. Rabindranath Babu briefed the visitors about the different types of firearms used by the police and the basics of handling them.

In Kakinada city, Kakinada MP Vanga Geetha and city MLA D. Chandrasekhar Reddy visited the exhibition in the district police office premises.

Students of various schools and colleges got a chance to keep arms in the presence of police officers.

Shri Rabindranath Babu said that the opportunity to get a closer look at the weapons during the demonstration was to generate interest among the youth to join the Armed Forces or Police Department and serve the country.

AK-47, 9 mm gas pistol, 303 LMG, 7.62 SLR, grenades and bullets were displayed at the exhibition. The police also shared the details of the facilities and techniques used to investigate the cases. The students were briefed about the working of dog squad, bomb disposal system and fingerprint technology.
