Hyderabad-based Trio develops app to help parents pay school fees in installments

Students across the country had to drop out of schools after the lockdown as many parents could afford to pay their school fees. Distressed by this, a trio of Hyderabad, Telangana, Satish Vangala, Vinod Boinpalli and Bharat S Krishnan have developed an app that helps parents pay their child’s school fees through instalments.

Before starting this app, Bharat was already working in Ola company and two of his friends Satish and Vinod came up with the idea.

The app named Feepad helps students to study online and provides online study material. Speaking to News18, Co-founder and CEO Bharat S Krishnan said that Feepad currently has over 130,000 active users and over 100 educational institutions with a network of banks in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.

Explaining how the app works, the co-founder said that the company has tied up with several finance companies, which provide loans to parents, through which they can pay their children’s fees. . After paying the fees through the bank, the parents can repay the amount to the banks in monthly installments.

“At present many finance companies also give loans to people to buy phones, then why should there be a loan option to meet the basic need of the students. That’s how we started this startup. Presently, our company is tying up with top finance companies and facilitating students and parents to pay their child fees in easy installments,” said Bharat S Krishnan.

The company started three years ago with an investment of Rs 1 crore. The founders of the company claim that the app is getting good response from both educational institutions and parents. One of the founders of the company claims that till now they are providing the app free of cost to all the educational institutions.

The app also has a facility to track student’s readings. Students can easily manage fee management and other day to day activities through institute fee based software. And the software is designed to be provided free of cost to the educational institutions.
