Be it psycho-thrillers or social dramas, a genre that Kumar has tried a lot, the actor says he wants his films to be watched without any hesitation.

Kumar told PTI in an interview, “I want to try my hand at different types of content. I don’t want to create any kind of image. But I make sure one thing is that the films I do are family entertainers. ” , The 54-year-old actor said that he would never want to be associated with ghinoni (dirty) films.

“I don’t want to make a ‘ghinouni’ (dirty) film. Be it a psycho-thriller film or a social drama, it should be watched by families without any hesitation. I believe in making films with keeping in mind Its message and business aspect, which will entertain the family audience.”

Kumar’s upcoming release “Raksha Bandhan” is another family entertainer of the actor, which has featured in his recent films like “Atrangi Re”, “Sooryavanshi”, “Bell Bottom”, “Good News” and “Mission Mangal”.

He said that ‘Raksha Bandhan’ is an important film ‘for the society and our families’. “It’s about the bond between siblings,” he said.

In the film directed by Aanand L Rai, Kumar plays the role of Raju, a sweet shop owner who is struggling for the marriage of his four younger sisters. The film stars Saadia Khatib, Sahajmin Kaur, Deepika Khanna and Smriti Srikkanth as Kumar’s on-screen sisters. The actor dedicated the film to his sister, Alka, who serves as a co-producer.

“My sister is everything to me. We share a great bond. We, as a family, believe in just being happy. When we didn’t have this kind of money and we lived in Koliwada area of ​​Mumbai Even then, we were happy and had a lot of fun.

“We were very satisfied with what we had in those days. On Saturdays, we avoided having our food as we loved watching movies in theatres. The atmosphere in our house was always lively and joyful.”

“Raksha Bandhan” is Kumar’s second project with Rai after 2021’s “Atrangi Re”, co-starring Sara Ali Khan and bow. As a director and a human being, Rai is from the heart, the actor said.

He said, “With him, everything is from heart… He is someone who will always smile and I have enjoyed my association with him. I hope and pray that we have a long association.”
