England on Sunday became the first team to hold the 50-over Cricket World Cup and the 20-over World Cup simultaneously. The Jos Buttler-led team achieved the feat by defeating Pakistan in a nervous T20 World Cup final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. After the result, great fast bowler Wasim Akram highlighted some of the mistakes committed by the Pakistan team during the final. Akram felt that when the team fought well, the batting style was not good. He also pointed out some flaws in the captaincy, which turned the game back in England’s favour.

“A total of 137 was never going to be enough on this track. We made too many mistakes with the bat. In the end, we fought well. Shaheen’s injury had an impact as he didn’t bowl two overs. There were some captaincy issues. In the middle, especially when Moeen Ali came in to bat. I think Iftikhar should have bowled an over there.” said on a sports,

In the final, Ben Stokes and Sam Curran performed brilliantly as England beat Pakistan by five wickets.

Jos Buttler’s side restricted Pakistan to 137–8 in front of a partisan 80,462 fans at the MCG, with player of the match and tournament Curran taking 3/12 and Adil Rashid taking 2/22.

In reply, England rolled 49-3 in the sixth over as they struggled to find any momentum against a fast pace attack, with boundaries hard to come by.

But Stokes (52 not out) and Moeen Ali (19) used their experience and cool head to guide England to victory with six balls to spare.
