The veteran leader said that after Modi’s speech, he tagged the prime minister in a tweet and said that he had blown the election bugle.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Sunday that he understood the Prime Minister’s tactic Narendra Modi In his speeches because he has been in politics for a long time.

During his address at an event organized at Rajasthan College in Jaipur, the Congress leader said Modi would begin his speech with the words “my friend Ashok Gehlot” and then launch a scathing criticism of his government.

He called it his “cleverness”.

Referring to Modi’s speech delivered virtually at a railway event held here on April 12, Gehlot said, “The prime minister recently attended a VC (video-conference) from Delhi…. He started his speech by saying ‘My friend Ashok Gehlot’. And they will do whatever they want with my government. It’s clever.”

The veteran leader said that after Modi’s speech, he tagged the Prime Minister in a tweet and said that he had blown the election bugle.

“I understand all these tricks…. I have also been doing politics for a long time.

The Congress leader said Modi himself had said in Mangarh that when he was the chief minister of (Gujarat), Ashok Gehlot was the senior-most among all chief ministers of the country.

He said, “Since I am senior, the Prime Minister should accept my advice and implement the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) across the country.”

“Implement OPS….This is your first advice…. What we have planned for Rajasthan, you implement in the country.

Gehlot accused Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah of creating a new model in the country’s politics of toppling elected governments through “horse trading” such as in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Goa and Manipur.
