Kolkata: Virat Kohli A scintillating half-century gave a glimpse of his past form and the former India captain was happy with his intent as he played the shot during India’s challenging total of 186 in the second T20I against West Indies on Friday.
Kohli smashed 52 off 41 balls, including seven fours and a six, to welcome his return to form after a four-match drought.
“I had decided to stay positive but then we lost something (Rohit Sharma, Surya Kumar Yadav) wicket. I still wanted to keep going but unfortunately I got out,” Kohli told Star Sports.

“I was happy with my intention that I wanted to play my shots. Sometimes when you play responsibly over time, you ask (yourself) if you want to play the big shots early.
“You don’t want to be careless, but at the same time you want to play your shots. That’s the balance you strive for,” said the former India captain.

“Today, I was happy with that balance. The wicket was holding in the middle so if we are clever with the ball, we have had enough. Special mention to Rishabh And finally Venky’s performance. He got us those 10 extra runs,” Kohli said.
