Vineet Joshi appointed new chairman of CBSE

Vineet Joshi, additional secretary in the education ministry, has been given the charge of CBSE chairman, officials said on Monday. This development comes after former CBSE chairman Manoj Ahuja stepped down after being appointed as OSD in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

A senior MoE official said, “After the release of Manoj Ahuja from the post of CBSE chairman, Vineet Joshi, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Education has been given the charge in addition to his current assignment.” A 1992 batch IAS officer of Manipur cadre, Joshi has previously served as the chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). He is also the Director General of the National Testing Agency (NTA).
