ICICI Lombard steps up to help flood-affected customers in Chennai

New Delhi: ICICI Lombard General Insurance has taken steps to provide assistance to its customers in flood-hit Chennai.

The insurer has launched SMS alerts, and as a post-disaster measure, the company will activate Fastrack claim settlement desks at all branches and inform its associate garages to prioritize vehicles affected due to floods.

“… In order to expedite the processing of claims for vehicles, the insurer will set up a ‘Fasttrack Settlement Desk’ at its branches in Chennai based on the flood claim volume. The main objective of this is to speed up and process the claims of its motor policyholders. All possible support is to be provided for timely settlement,” it said in a press release.

It has launched an SMS alert for motor policyholders to call the toll-free number 18002666 in case of vehicle damage due to floods. Additionally, with engine seizure being one of the common problems, the company has also sent out SMS alerts requesting customers to avoid starting the motor vehicle if water has entered the vehicle or engine parts.

In addition, customers can also avail the IL Tech Care App for quick notification of claims. Alternatively, customers can also connect on the toll-free number for any assistance.
