Union Home Minister Amit Shah did a roadshow in Chikkodi area of Belagavi on Saturday.
Amit Shah was seated in a specially designed vehicle and greeted the people gathered there.
The entire road through which the convoy was passing during the roadshow was lined with BJP supporters and party workers.
The home minister also hit out at the Congress party on the issue of ‘four per cent Muslim reservation’ and appealed to the people to vote for a double engine government in the state if they wanted to.
“BJP had removed 4 per cent Muslim reservation, and increased the reservation for Lingayats, SC and ST community. Congress party says they will bring back 6 per cent reservation for Muslims if they come to power. SC reservation will come down.” If Karnataka does not want this, then it should vote for the BJP government.
Earlier in the day, during an election rally in Belagavi, Amit Shah said that PM Modi has fulfilled the dreams of Lord Ram devotees by building the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
“BJP has worked for farmers here. We have given many benefits to farmers. Congress insulted Savarkar. But BJP developed and respected Marathas… PM Modi by building Ram Mandir in Ayodhya Lord Rama fulfilled the dreams of the devotees.” ,
The last phase of campaigning for the assembly elections to be held in the state on May 10 has intensified.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also did a roadshow in Bengaluru. According to party sources, he is going to hold two mega roadshows and four public meetings later this week.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath did a roadshow in Karnataka’s Udupi district.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma conducted a roadshow at Shanivarasanthe Madikeri in Kodagu district.
Assembly elections will be held in Karnataka on May 10 and the counting of votes will take place on May 13.
