IFS officer shares video of tiger trying to attack an elephant calf

A video of a tiger chasing an elephant calf has gone viral on social media. But what makes it more interesting is that two adult elephants can be seen saving the baby from a possible tiger attack.

The video was shared by Indian Forest Service (IFS) Sushant Nanda on Twitter, in which a tiger can be seen trying to hunt down an elephant calf, but unable to do so as it tries to protect two adult elephants. has failed. As the tiger runs after them, one of the elephants is seen turning back and trying to protect the child. The elephant calf is also seen clinging to the other elephant as they try to run away. In the end, the tiger fails to catch the child and then leaves. The caption accompanying the video also read, “When the apex predator captures the calf of the largest herbivorous animal in our forests… Watch how the elephants take the cute little baby away from the tiger. Rare encounter, But happens in the wild”.
