IIM Ahmedabad, ISB The Economist’s Top 100 MBA Rankings 2022 Only Indian B-Schools

Only two Indian business schools have made it to The Economist’s Full Time MBA Rankings 2022. The Indian pack is led by the Indian School of India. Business (ISB) which has secured 75th position. Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad Has secured 99th position out of total 100 universities. In addition, nine of the top 10 positions are occupied by B-schools in the United States.

IIM-Ahmedabad was ranked 51st and ISB 44th in The Economist’s MBA Ranking 2021. In 2019, the only participating institute from IIM-Ahmedabad was India and placed 75th. While IIM Ahmedabad has been steadily declining its position on the ranking index, ISB is back in the race after a massive drop. However, IIM-A has consistently maintained its position in the list over the years.

The Economist says that US B-schools have returned after a one-year break and therefore all B-schools that were at the top ranks last year have fallen. “US MBA programs take the top spot in this year’s rankings when they return from a one-year hiatus. So the full-time MBA rankings in 2022 look surprisingly different. Those sitting pretty in 2021 make way for a new top five.” has been firmly removed for, ”says The Economist.

More than two-thirds of the top 50 B-schools are from the US. The full-time MBA at Harvard Business School ranked first, followed by the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in second and third place, respectively.

Rank 8 – Stanford University – Graduate School of Business, US

Rank 9 – University of Chicago – Booth School of Business, US

Rank 10 – University of Michigan – Stephen M. Ross School of Business, US

The University of Hong Kong’s HKU ranked 43rd is the top ranked B-school among Asian colleges. Among the European MBAs that are scattered among US schools is HEC Paris, the only one among the top 10. 7th place. Others include SDA Bocconi School of Management, EDHEC Business School and IESE Business School. IESE’s full-time MBA program was at the top position last year, but has now dropped to 15 places. According to the portal, this is due to the withdrawal of many US MBA programs.
