In India, most students prefer to take the science stream in the 11th grade to pursue engineering after completing their school education. One of the most prestigious institutes for pursuing engineering in the country is the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). There are many IITs in the country, and students need to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) to get admission to the IITs. The students need to clear JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. Now, one of the most popular institutes, IIT Kharagpur, has introduced a new course for the students. As per reports, the newly launched course will be for a short duration and will be highly beneficial for the students.

As engineering has many branches, like electrical, mechanical, civil, and more, many students want to pursue engineering as per their interests. Now, it has been found that IIT Kharagpur has launched a new short-term course. As per reports, IIT Kharagpur has organised a course by the mechanical engineering department of the institution. The name of this short online course is Surface Engineered Materials Technology. The course duration of the classes will be 12 days. Reportedly, the class will start on November 20 and continue until December 1. The classes will have two-hour sessions daily. The total duration of the course will be 24 hours.

Apart from IIT Kharagpur, interested students from other educational institutions, teachers, researchers, and professionals working in the industry can also apply for the course in surface engineering. The course will cover basic concepts of surface science, surface coating processes, CVD processes, arc deposition, thermal spray, surface content, etc.

It has also been found that students will have to pay Rs 2,950 for the course, teachers and researchers will have to pay Rs 5,900, and professionals will pay Rs 8,850 for admission to the course.
